FAQ’s.

What to Expect?
Janine will conduct a comprehensive assessment, which will take into account your personal history, present-day concerns, and what you might be hoping for in the therapeutic process. If you have specific goals for therapy and/or beyond, you can talk about those, too. Together, you’ll address any concerns or questions you have regarding therapy, and identify a plan to move forward with.
Therapy will begin during the following session. If, for any reason, you and/or Janine don't believe that working together is the best fit for you, specific referrals based on the comprehensive assessment will be provided to support your coordination of care.
What is the Cancellation Policy?
Just Janine Therapy & Co. requires a 48-hour notice of cancellation. If canceled within the 48-hour window (or no call - no show), a cancellation fee applies and must be paid before the next scheduled session. If an extreme emergency arises, contact Janine directly to discuss. It’s important to meet consistently to make progress in your treatment.
Is Online Therapy Right for Me?
Although there are many advantages of online therapy (it’s convenient, effective, and keeps us safe from infectious diseases such as COVID-19), it’s not right for everyone.
Online therapy (teletherapy) works best for those with mild to moderate symptoms (not people who are suicidal or in crisis), are comfortable using technology, and have a quiet, private place to have their sessions.
Can Janine Guarantee Results?
Janine's approach is to go at your pace, however, the time spent together has to be productive and beneficial to your growth. The ultimate goal is to identify the root cause of your presenting problems and to gain awareness of your core values/beliefs and barriers.
An assessment of current stressors, psychoeducation, and mental health coping tools will be a common thread during each session. Clients who show up willing to work and have an open mindset are proven to have a higher success rate in therapy.
How Long Will I Be In Therapy?
Many variables apply and are highly dependent upon your needs and goals. Monthly and quarterly evaluations are completed to ensure the effectiveness of your treatment plan.
How Long are the Sessions?
A standard session is 50 minutes long. You may lose some of that time if you are late for a session. A 15-minute grace period is allowed before the session is classified as a, "no-show."
Does Janine Complete Verification Letters?
Janine composes letters within her realm of practice. If a letter is needed, brief information that confirms a diagnosis, symptoms, and treatment may be provided. Due to potential liability, any form(s) of Legal, Disability, or ESA letters are not provided due to not being fully knowledgeable of the temperate, training, and history of your pet(s) or the exhaustive medical history of the client.
How Often are the Sessions?
Therapy is most powerful when it's conducted weekly. This is verified by countless evidence-based studies and Janine's professional experience as a therapist. Clients who commit to weekly sessions for the duration of treatment make the greatest transformations.
*Please feel free to discuss with Janine if you have questions.
